If you call a Jock called Jock 'Jock' can he take offence and are you a racist? :(

Here, less of the Jockland pal, that's seen as derogatory and offensive by many Scots.

Duly noted Cactus-It wasn't meant to offend. Clearly ALL the Scottish men I have met are in the minority because they're all called Jock, a bit similar to all the Welsh are called Taff :?

It's looking like the SX and X1 will be the bikes of choice lOl

CJ,

Its a bit of a treck from Portsmouth, but you never know.

I'm off work for all of September this year and this would a rather nice way to kick things off!

I might even be able to book the bike it at Maz's and stop over in that area on the way up. I think I see a plan starting to come together

Well, the route planner says 595 miles and 11 hours.

Obviously that doesn't take into account the skinny M2 tank. Add in half a dozen petrol stops, the occasional fag break and the inevitable odd traffic jam and we're probably looking at closer to 14 hours.

But, its only 250 miles and 4 1/2 hours to Maz. Let's say (just a guess) that Maz will want two days to more or less sort my Buell (remember that you can loose two hours just taking off and refitting all the bodywork!).

To arrive at the hotel on 29th August, the journey up would be:

25th - get up stupidly early for a five hour ride to Manchester
26th / 27th - in Manchester whilst bike is sorted
28th - leave Maz and head up to stay somewhere central belt-ish in Scotland
29th - leave Edinburgh (well, it would be nice to see the City again) and head to hotel

Utter madness - what could be more fun!

Dave

That's not madness Dave , we all did JoGLE in about 30 hours in 2009 ;) most people had a leisurely two days getting to John oGroats for the start but only one day getting home from Lands end. 500 miles a day is easily achievable on a Buell ;)
I think it was crazy Col and his girlfriend that were the most amazing though , all the way from the south coast to Scotland in one day 2 up on a firebolt with the biggest rucksack I've ever seen on her back lOl
