Hi all

I'm ebaying a few parts that I've left over from the customisation I did with the X1 Lightning.

It's all standard OEM stuff that I removed but may be useful if you're looking for a few replacement bits for repairs etc.

My X1 is hardly used so everything listed is in good standard nick.

eBay name is davethec4t

Cheers

Guys there's nothing wrong with any of those bits for someone looking for a cheap replacement. There's hardly any wear on any of the parts. As long as you're aware of the fact that they are what they are

There's everything wrong with those parts, by design. That's why they were all superceded. That's why we've all swapped out the pump drive gear, the rear isolators, the primary tensioner, the front rotor for the later design. Presumably that's why you did too.
In the case of the tensioner, wear is not the problem, fracture is. That's why they were redesigned, because they failed. No one in their right mind would fit that old design, no matter how cheap it might be, because it costs many hundreds to fix the mess when (not if) it breaks.
I'm sure I'm not alone in thinking you're wrong to be selling that (other than for a paperweight).

I'd watch the description on ebay too. The only way that tensioner and disc came from a 2001 bike is if the previous owner removed the original good bits and replaced them with stuff from older models. The disc was discontinued in '99 and the tensioner in '00.

I assume your bike must be a bitsa or a very late registered 1999 bike.

Tom I think you should just sit back and think about what you are doing by offering some of those parts for sale. The majority of people here on UKBeg pride themselves on being part of a group of the best people around that would do anything to assist and help others either with advice / time / parts to get them out of the shit and even money at times. To allow some unsuspecting person to fit a part that could destroy their engine when you yourself know the reasons they have been removed doesn't say a lot for your morals. That tensioner could destroy the transmission and that oil pump gear could destroy the engine , some of the other parts depending on amount of wear could be a safety issue.
The oil pump gears are suspect for wear anyway so to put a used one into a different engine is likely to wear even faster due to meshing against a different gear from previous.
Do yourself a favour mate and think about how you would feel if instead of advice from UKBeg you'd been sold substandard parts that destroyed your bike.

Any one with any morals would just throw it in the bin then no damage to somebody elses bike and no space taken up in the shed either.

By the way. Thanks for pointing out that I'd listed the parts as 2001 instead of 1999. Cheers.
