This is my X1 plastics coated and lacquered ready to be sent to me, looking forward to fitting them and seeing them in their glory. :)

I think its some kind of hydro dipping and have it clear coated!

Hydro-dipped with lashings of laquer will let you know how hard shortly :(

I would say that if it's laquered over then it is the laquer that gives it the strength just the same as the Laquer gives the protection to a painted surface.
I believe the hydro dipping sheets are just a solid paint anyway and that when you spray them prior to dipping you are just turning the paint into a liquid form to allow it to adhere to the surface.

So, re this clip on wicked's website; is that just 'thinners' that he sprays on to the transfer before he dips his hand in the tank?... :shock:
