UKBEG @ Lincolnshire Wolds Run.
Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre, East Kirkby, near Spilsby.
Web sites here and here

Always a popular event with UKBEG members (and their girlfriends*) the Lincolnshire Wolds Classic Motorcycle Run takes place on Saturday 2nd May. Jane and I have already registered for the event but you can just turn up on the day and pay on the gate.

Signing-on starts at 8.30am and the ride-out starts at approx. 10.30am. There’s an informal lunch stop at ‘The Green Man’ pub, Scamblesby, returning to Aviation Heritage Centre in time for the 3.00pm Lancaster taxi-run.

The event raises funds for a very worthwhile cause, the Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance registered charity.

William – it was great to meet your friend yesterday, although we didn’t realise it was him at the time. We met many friends from both UKBEG and the Moto Guzzi Club, plus we made the final arrangements with the Aviation Centre for Em’s Day on Bank Holiday Monday, 25th May.

Jane’s Guzzi, Barney was quite the celebrity, with many people asking about his mileage (now 102,000) and how we’ve kept him in such good condition. In contrast nobody asked about the Ulysses :sad1: ….

The digital speedometer that we’ve fitted is a Daytona 140 stainless steel unit. With the optional magnetic speed sensor kit it cost £99.95 inc. VAT. We bought it from Digital Speedos Ltd, web site and product information here.

The event itself was excellent, there were hundreds of bikes with lots of vintage and classic bikes attending and being used on the run. The Wolds Run has become one of our favourite events of the year and yesterday didn’t disappoint. Even the weather played ball, it was cold but we didn’t see any rain until we were nearing home yesterday tea time.

Just a small selection of the pictures I took yesterday…..
