I have had oil weeping from the breather bolts that hold the air cleaner support on. Tried stopping it with washers but think the problem now is my support has a slot in the bottom of the rear hole.(picture doesn't show the slot) Not sure why slot is there but was wondering where I can get a replacement without a slot to try to stop the oil coming out. This is not for an original air cleaner.

Also I have holes in the back of the air cleaner plate which allow air directly into carb, I tried taping over these a few years ago to see if it would help stop the hiccup/misfire I get sometimes at 2200 rpm.It didn't make much difference but I left the tape on. Having recently bought another air cleaner this one also has holes in that have been taped over, are the holes supposed to be there when the filters are new?

Think the hole is there to put the breather pipe into. Better sealed IMHO.

Leaks through the threads on the banjos can be fixed with Hylomar. The breather system you have is to go with an M2 or X1 carb bracket which doesn't have the slot.

Better to put XB rocker covers on and use big Allen screws in the breather tappings, the breather pipes are a lot tidier... Again IMHO...

BTW, with an engine as modified as yours, why you not have Mikuni HSR42 (or even 45)?

what Pash says regarding XB covers with PCVs and out of sight breather pipes.... but, in the short term, provide even clamping for your sealing washers by inserting heavy gauge plain steel washers between them and the bracket... and consider using 'doughty' type seals rather than fibre seals.

Thats what I've been looking for, do you know where i can get one, and what to ask for ??

Do you think the engine has been modified other than junking original air filter? I bought it with low mileage but know none of its history.
Would like a Mikuni, and XB rocker covers,but trying to run a Buell and a Guzzi on a shoestring as no job and no income from my self employed attempts, its just dreaming. Took Christmas and Birthday to get 1/2 cash needed for a Corbin seat, best money I've spent though.

Who's Vintage?
The one I have came from you Maz, I didn't know there were different brackets until now. Wanna do part exchange?

The air filter I have has 2 holes, one for the breather?
The old one had a breather pipe connector into it but open hole as well.

You have the right bracket for an S1 but the wrong breather hardware.

Two holes suggest two breather hoses or one breather hole and a temp sensor (on X1).
