Tomorrow's weather looks good.

As there seem to be a few Buell owners in the area who might be interested, a typical Saturday morning ride for me is down to The Chalet for breakfast around 8am:

and then on to Whiteways for coffee around 9am:

usually via the B2135 (Partridge Green to Steyning) and the A283 (Steyning, Washington, Storrington, Amberley).

Not that I'm a creature of habit... ;)

No takers but this M2 parked up alongside me at Whiteways at 9:30. A local guy called Darren. Don't think he's on the forum.

Nice. M2 with a short tail, some call them an M1.

Hmmmm... I don't know tubers that well so I looked at the timing cover and I thought it said M2. When he came back from buying a coffee, I asked him if it was an M2 and he said yes. So, either my eyesight and hearing are defective (which is quite likely ;-)) or... Could it be an M1 tail on an M2 ? As I say, I don't know tubers so I don't know if this is likely, or even possible.

You're perfectly correct, Steve, it is an M2. With a short tail. And some people have dubbed that combination 'M1'. It's not an official designation and doesn't make a lot of sense because the S1 (which M1 owners are trying to emulate) was also available with a long seat, but that didn't make it an S2... and the X1 had a double seat...
