Thinking of moving on my Buell as it just doesnt get the riding it deserves. Up to last week I had 6 other bikes in my shed which I seem to ride more (old Honda CX's and BMW airheads) !

Its a 2008 model (I think.... with beige coloured engine). I bought it new from Waterford Harley Davidson in 2009. It had its first service there and I've serviced it myself since. It also had the latest Buell software update installed there in 2010.

It has 7206km on the odo at the moment. All ridden by me, no commuting, no city riding all minimum 30 mile plus rides on A type roads and some motorways. Never wheelied or thrashed. Engine oil changed every year, transmission oil every second year.

It has the Palmer steel bar end weights, axle slides, mud flap on front of exhaust and rubber ring thingy on steering stem.
Has a Free Spirits tensioner
Maz grease nipple mod
Breathers rerouted to ground
K&N filter
Bought from HD with comfort kit (vent under leg thingy etc)
It has a custom mapping installed remotely by TWIN and their US partner company - smoother riding etc.
Full Buell luggage - side panners + top box (panniers never used)
Pirelli tyres - still lots of wear left.
Battery is on Optimate once a fortnight or so.

No marks that I'm aware of - I'm not a polisher but keep it semi clean and have hosed it down after mucky or autumn/spring rides - not ridden in winter.

Has lived in a garage all its life.

I also have a full set of Buell Manuals for the bike incl
Owners Manual
Service Manual
Electrical Diagnostic Manual
Part Catalog

I also have a gear indicator that I bought for it and never fitted (as the loom adapter they sold me was for a previous model bike). I couldnt bring myself to cut the loom to fit it so still have it.

Think thats it. Bike is in Ireland and irish registered, about 40 miles west of Dublin. Could deliver to the UK (Holyhead or further) for the right deal/price.

Not sure what its worth but if it doesnt sell I'll hold onto it and ride it ocassionally like I do at the moment as I dont need to sell it, financially speaking.

Thanks.
Eric

Forgot to say it also has Palmer fender extension pieces fitted.

The Gear indicator is an Acumen - still new in box - wrong loom adapter (for pre 2008 bike) included too !!

Original belt tensioner wheel bracket also included.

I also have a brand new Free Spirits RHS scoop - never fitted (bike has stock "comfort Kit" RHS scoop fitted ). Think this cost about £100.

Exhaust is original but had it off about 2 years ago and repainted it in black high temp paint.

I also have a "modified" axle stand thingy too....handle cut and extra piece welded into to widen to fit on rear swingarm of this bike.

Bike is an original 1 owner (me) irish bike with KM clocks/ODO fitted (4478 miles).

I'm not 100% sure on price, but due to age, mileage, condition, extras etc I'm thinking around £5k ovno.

Eric.

Ok.

But my point of view is I will probably replace it with something else - probably a bit smaller capacity.

I would be looking at something low mileage (< 10,000 miles) and well looked after too with some useful accessories, luggage etc probably in the 650 to 900cc range......with some cash back to me !

Probably Honda/Yamaha/Suzuki/BMW brands.....not all models but some in this range.

Motorcycling is a hobby to me, not a way of commuting so I cannot justify investing more money on it or financing it with a loan etc. all my current bikes are bought and paid for up front, never financed or got a loan for a bike.......cant justify it !

So the following equation is in my head......................
XB12XT (lot of bike, useful accessories, low mileage, decent condition) = Another smaller bike (Less Bike, useful accessories, low mileage, decent condition)

I like the Buell, its a super bike...lots of times its too super....I find myself cruising at too high a speed (65mph in 50mph zone) and "suddenly" being at 75+mph after an overtake or two.......couple that with a lack of support from decent Buell guys like Maz etc......and thats why I'm not sure whether I will continue with my current bike.........when its hits 10,000 miles I'll have to look at a trip to the UK for that service by someone like MAz as I wouldnt tackle it on my own and I dont feel I have access to a decent Buell mechanic in Ireland !!

Saying that if I have to hold onto it I will, financially I dont need to sell it, it'll take me another 5 year or so to hit 10k miles at which point I'll spend the money and maybe visit Maz or one of the other recommended mechanics in the UK.

Hope this explains where I'm coming from. so not trying to be a smart arse or rip anyone off just this is the way I worked out what I would need to get to do what I want.

Cheers,
Eric.

Just off the M4 Willy, exit 9 Enfield and I'm about 4 miles toward Edenderry on R402. You're welcome to drop in for a chat and a cuppa.

Drop me a PM and we can exchange contact numbers etc.

In the meantime I'll try take some pics of the bike.

Eric.
