Actually it does work as expected. I had a bit of a slow ride home this evening and when I got back and turned the bike off the fan ran for about 2 minutes. I'm running BUE2D firmware with a stock 2008 XB12X EEPROM (thanks Pash). I've attached a picture of my fan settings.
