The big problem here is that you wouldn't believe just how increadibly slow I am as a rider. JoGLE would probably take me 4 days, not 2.

I'm also factoring in the fact that, as one member of this parish so eloquently put it, the faired M2 has a "token headlamp". Sufficient for MOT purposes, but I wouldn't want to actually rely on it after dark, especially on some of those Scottish roads up the west coast.

Norrie - that is a very kind offer indeed!

I'll need to put a propoer plan together and work out exact dates, but its looking possible.

Dave it looks as though I will have moved by then although you would still be welcome to stay at our new gaf it's on the A7 at Stow rather than the A701. The only downside is it's up a track and it's worse than the track going to Adams.

We're setting off first light on Saturday so given a fair wind we'll arrive in Mallaig around teatime, it's approx. 380/400 miles for us.

We're all packed and ready for an early start tomorrow. This will be our first trip north of the border this year and we're really looking forwards to our mini adventure in Scotland.

We're taking the waterproofs just in case, although we probably won't need to put them on ....

The Wi-Fi is working tonight so just a brief post to say that we're having/had a brilliant time, a 'little' soggy at times but that hasn't dampened our spirits.

We've had 4 Buells, 1 EBR, 1 Honda and 1 Guzzi so a smallish but perfectly formed group of bikes.

It hasn't all been rain, last night on the coast in Arisaig:
