:?: I,m in the process of welding O2 bungs on uly headers. The innovate kit I am using comes with a m18x1.5 mild steel bung which is 2.5mm tall to fit the w/band sensor.I have 2 after market s/steel O2 bungs that are m 18x1.5 but are shallower at 1.5mm tall.Is it ok to use the shallow bungs for tuning as more of the w/band sensor tip will be exposed, or  should I Tig 2 bungs together then machine down to an inch. The position of the bungs will be the same as Pash had on his xb ulytune if this helps.

If the bung isn't in the flow, what is it measuring?

I would look at the depth of penetration of the stock sensor and replicate it.

Ok pash. I thought if i replicated the depth of penetration of the stock n/band sensor it would damage the w/band sensor as I think I read that only 1/16 of an inch of the tip should be exposed. What size bung did you weld onto your uly? is what im asking.

Here is some pictures of progress so far. After cleaning and polishing the downpipes it looks like the oe sensor bung is in fact MILD STEEL and has been MIG welded onto the STAINLESS downpipe. The Innovate bung is MILD STEEL and is on the left the STAINLESS one I am thinking of fitting is 1cm shorter. The beer is now EMPTY.
