Hello All,

Hopefully someone can help me out here, I have just purchased a 2007 Ulysses with a loose side stand. I have checked the threads into the engine and one of them is shot due to the PO having a Quill exhaust and some bracket hanging there to attach it.

This has gone in the bin and bracket removed, but now only one thread is man enough to tighten the side stand with, I was hoping to time-sert the failed one but can I get a kit for it? Nope.

So does anyone know where to buy a set from this side of the pond?

The thread size for the bolt is 5/16-18 and the hole is about 1" deep.

Any help appreciated, Mark. :4roz:

I would use a helicoil, they are easy to pick up in the UK.

unc time-sert kits are available in the uk because we got a 1/4unc set at work last year, i'll see if i can find out where it came from. They are better than helicoil due to having solid inserts that can't unwind spring style like helicoils sometimes do.

It looks like Wurth are the importers for the UK , you may have to order the UNC ones though. www.wurth.co.uk

Thanks Guys,

Managed to get hold of a set from the chaps at Wurth in the UK, they are sending it out tomorrow.

Hopefully I won't/can't cock it up!

So if anyone in the future needs to borrow it let me know, I don't suppose there will be much demand
for it..............bloody imperial random sized crap.

Cheers me dears, Mark.
