We've had a great ride down from Yorkshire. With the exception of one light shower the weather's been spot on and because we had all day to play around with we could pick a good cross country route.
In keeping with the aeronautical theme of the weekend we called into RAF Duxford this afternoon before continuing onto our hotel near Hemel Hempstead. They say timing is everything, 10 minutes after we arrived a Spitfire took off and started doing a few circuits of the airfield. I'm sure they didn't lay it on just for us, but you never know....
When we were getting ready to leave Duxford a large group of Dutch Harley riders arrived. They were on their way back to Harwich after a 9 day tour of England and Wales. One of the riders also owned a Guzzi and his local dealer was Teo Lamers in Nijmegen, who we'd visited just 4 weeks ago during our Netherlands trip. Talking of Guzzis, my 1100 rolled over 75,000 miles today. I've still got quite away to go to catch Barney, Jane's 110,000 mile Breva 750
...
I'm still not on a Buell
but after next weekend I'll have more free time to finish off the 60,000 mile service on the Ulysses and get that back on the road.
Duxford's replica Hurricane....
