Which route will you be going from Rotterdam to Neuenburg?

Big Daddy G,

I am running south to Stuttgart inside Germany to avoid the French motorway tolls. Overnight at my home in Böblingen and head out early for Como. I'll be trading my Bonneville for my Sprint ST, the Bonnie is great for B roads but nots much the motorways.

I rented an apartment 10 km from the factory that sleeps 4 if you want to come along, I can put you up.

Gunter, our route:
A15 Nijmegen
A73 Venlo
A61 Koln
Koblenz
Mainz
Ludwigshafen
A5 Karlsruhe
Neuenburg

Not the most exciting journey on Thursday but we will cover the distance in a reasonable amount of time. The ride across Switzerland into Italy on Friday more than makes up for it.

If you time permits, how about meeting near Koblenz, then travel along the Rhine river (B42, because I find it more enjoyable as the river is on the right side), have a cup of tea or whatever in Lorch (http://www.winzerhaus-lorch.de/home.html - ask Pash if you want a second oppinion ;-) ) and then you can either take the ferry to cross or remain on the same side continuing your travel to Mainz.

Gunter, that’s a good idea, it’d be a welcome scenic diversion and we could meet up for a sticky bun and coffee :eat:.... .

I make it 264 miles/5 hours into our journey, off the A61 at junction 43, then use the ferry or back on at 47 or 48. We could text you when we’re about an hour away from Restaurant Winzerhaus. How long does it take you to get to Lorch?

Frankfurt - Lorch is roughly a 2 hrs ride using scenic roads, so you could perhaps drop me a line when you pass Venlo. As I usually ride via St. Goarshausen I could as well meet you at the ferry there or in Kalb, if you prefer to use the next ferry.

Gunter, we'll go with that plan :yup:...we'll send you a text when we're in the Venlo area and then meet you at the St. Goarshausen ferry.

And don't worry, Barney has promised to behave himself and not delay us, unlike last year in Sweden :oooops: ....

Great, and the weather forecast says it will be warm and sunny!
I would suggest waiting here on the parking area in front of the left church
I am looking forward to meeting you again.

Yay, just one more sleep to go.

It looks like an excellent forecast :sun: :sun: for our ride down to Italy and over the weekend for the event in Mandello.

See you Thursday, Gunter :yup:....

Have fun folks.
I'm still on the verge of becoming a Guzzi owner.
Have ridden the V7 Stone and the V9 Roamer.
Going to try the V9 again.
Then, who knows!!!! :)

We covered 480 miles today in glorious sunshine. Unbelievable weather :sun: :sun: ....

Met Joe USA on the ferry last night and we enjoyed a scenic detour this afternoon to meet up with Gunter. An excellent day.

Tomorrow, Switzerland, the Alps and Italy ....

Two-wheeled heaven in Mandello today :P .....

We've met up with many friends and made some new ones from Australia. The Victoria Guzzi Club had organised a trip of a lifetime and shipped some of their Guzzis to Europe just for this event.

Well, I called Jane and CJ today but all I saw was the bikes parked in the lot. Saw the museum, the shop, the wind tunnel and won an hour and a half test ride on the new super cool California Flying Fortress tomorrow morning, looking forward to it. 11:30 is the Italian GP and very bar is broadcasting live, I can't wait for that either.

Good luck everybody

Joe, sorry we missed you today, we were looking out for you. We'll be there again tomorrow but on foot. There's a small passenger ferry from Onno across to Mandello so we plan to have a chilled out day without bike kit etc.

What time is your test ride?
