I s'pose it not being your bike, you didn't want to go in and cut the thingmabob wires and twist 'em together to bypass the thingmabob altogether. Or are the new Buells so high tech that all sensor signals are connected thru the central processor by a wireless on-board network?

But really, too bad about the end of what sounds like a brilliant run on a borrowed bike. I would no doubt be willing to do some strange things to be allowed the use of a broken-in CR for a few thou miles!

Curious, though - how's it feel to switch back from a CR to a nicely tuned Uly?

That ending to your tale with the 1125CR was pre-determined, CJ, in the title of this very thread. "1125CR - A Buell, but not as I know it.".

That is a Buell exactly as many of us know them. :D

At least (I presume) it was just a sensor and nothing major. We couldn't get to the wiring with the sensor in place and we were reluctant to start messing about with it because the bike wasn't ours.

Getting back on our fully fettled Ulysses reminded me just why I love this bike so much. Great engine with adequate power and torque, supreme comfort and great riding position. It just feels so right :P...

All the levers are mounted like that, it's normal. The can is horribly rusty though

I'm on my third sidestand sensor :headbang:
One "switch-for-the-stupid" stops me getting to 150 horses. If the third one goes pear-shaped, I'll find a permanent way to bypass it. The sensor has 3 wires going to it and I don't think it's a straightforward 0 Volts to 5 Volts type comms to the ECU.
To get around it in a hurry, bypass the clutch lever switch by shorting the conxn. ECU doesn't know you're in gear and gets you home.

In a way I'm glad that someone else has had this happen (especially as it wasn't your bike). Cos none of the CR lot at the Ace Cafe on Sunday had any trouble with it........ YET!

Great bike when running thuogh - really great! Want mine back

Nice to see that a few choice features have been carried over to the CR's from the M2's.

I test rode one at East Kirby and really liked it and was womdering about buying one but it is a bit to fast for me or at least my license.
The fact that the demo that they leant you broke down puts me off although.

Oh and Chris time to get rid of your bike if it's reasched 20,000 miles as it's only a matter of time although that's my bike got 20,400 on it now and it's not gone bang yet.

Obviously not unknown for these sensors to cause trouble...
