Trip to Maz also on the cards for the New Year.
Me too. Its a 4.5 hour run up for me, more if I get off the motorway, so I stay a night. I reckon I've got the area sussed.
Few tips: Stay at the B&B up the road, nice double room for £50 with a full English in the morning. Barton Villa.
The pub next door has cheap pints...I'm sure I got one for £2! Everything is cheaper up north for some reason
One visit up I got an Uber to Wetherspoon for a cheap steak but my last visit I found The Curry Cottage a short walk away on Foundry St. Excellent food with a huge menu at very reasonable prices. Reviews can do the talking
https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Restauran ... gland.htmlIf you like a bit of history there's a pretty cool museum next to the B&B. Was a little slow moving as I managed to arrive just as 3 buses from a rest home unloaded but I had a nice sandwich in the café courtyard next to the canal.
https://www.tameside.gov.uk/museumsgalleries/portlandI find it a bit of fun going up there and exploring (I do like an adventure) Maz rate is great so you'll probably save some money in the longrun and your bike will be sorted and you'll learn some more about it.
The bike loves the road too and I felt little discomfit...They're no Harley but 5, 6 or even 7 hours a day is quite doable.
My 1125 was pretty much finished when I bought it (Exhaust, ECM, Oberon clutch, charging is fine) but I did have the usual ignition wire problem which Maz sorted. Other than that, 20k hassle free miles under her belt. I got the thicker saddlemen seat and slightly lower pegs too as I'm over 6 foot, but it only made a slight difference in comfort.
Have fun and roll on Spring!
