Hi guys just about to join the ranks of Buell owners and buy a 1125R. A quick question does anyone know if you can get the side panels shown on the USA site in the UK.

Adam

I think Bonehead is referring to the full fairing kit.

Well, maybe not that specific one as it is from Adrenalin Moto so UK supplied anyway, but that sort of thing.

Here you go, the one on Buell.com for $500.

If, as Norm surmised, it is the Buell fairing, it is available:

Just in case the link fails, the part number is M2296.1AMMW.

Worked for me and, as usual, $500 translates at the current market rate to £467.67. Excluding VAT. Nice.

Before you order, have a word with Black Bear. They are Buell friendly, unlike a lot of dealers. Buying from them, although not on your doorstep, could save your blood pressure in the future. What have you got to loose by giving them a phone call?

:yt: It feels a very tight engine. Mine took about 5k miles to feel nice. The more miles they get on them, the better they feel ;)

Taken from the Owners manual -

Quote:
To allow your engine to wear in its critical parts, we recommend that you observe the riding rules provided below for the first 600 miles 1000 kilometers . Adhering to these suggestions will help to assure good future durability and performance.

During the first 300 miles 500 kilometers of riding, keep the engine speed below 6000 RPM in any gear. Do not lug the engine by running or accelerating at very low RPM, or by running at high RPM longer than needed for shifting or passing.

Up to 600 miles 1000 kilometers , vary the engine speed and avoid operating at any steady engine speed for long periods. Engine speed up to 7500 RPM in any gear is permissible.

Drive slowly and avoid fast starts at wide open throttle until the engine has warmed up.

Avoid lugging the engine by not running the engine at very low speeds in higher gears.

New brakes need to be broken-in. Avoid stops from very high speeds for the first 200 miles 300 kilometers . Proper seating of the pads can be accomplished by using light brake pressure for the first few stops, letting the system cool, then doing several stops using moderate to firm brake pressure.

Buy it from BB HD and run it in gently, Mine's at 4200 miles and just loosening up nicely. It is just about as much fun as you can have with your clothes on! Get a CR though, they look better!!
