Definitely planning to join you for this one on the 7th, Paul 8-)

I've started supporting Bike Tours for the Wounded https://biketoursforthewounded.co.uk recently and they are holding their Spring Peaks and Dales Rideout the previous day, Saturday 6 April, starting from East Midlands Airport Hilton and ending at Pidcocks in Nottingham.

I'm planning to stop somewhere in the area and kill two birds with one stone 8-) Looking forward to it :D

Steve

Hi Steve,
If you want to stay overnight at mine, you'd be very welcome. I have a spare room with a pretty comfy sofa bed & I can also rustle up some nice food. :yup:
More importantly you can park your bike in my garage to make sure it's safe. :yup:
Just another option for you & absolutely no pressure if you have other plans. I'm about 30mins from Nottingham, 2 miles from Matlock Bath in a little village called Tansley.

All the best & look forward to seeing you either way. Paul.

Thanks, Paul

I'll probably take you up on that but will confirm closer to the time.

Thanks again

Steve

Hi Thunderer,
Nice one, details of the meeting place & map of the run will be posted very soon.
Date is the 7th April At 10.30.
I went through Matlock Bath about an hour ago walking my collies & maybe 60-80 bikes there, about a quarter (if that) of the summer season's numbers.
Should be a great run if the weather's ok. Thanks for your interest & hopefully see you on the day.
All the best. Paul.

Hi Folks,

More details of the Derbyshire high peak ride from Matlock Bath. You can check the route Google maps with the postcodes. May have to move the markers a little to get the correct route.

So meeting at the Aquarium Arcade which is in the middle of the High St in Matlock Bath, run through Matlock, Darley Dale, Chatsworth House Park, Carver, Grindleford, Surprise View, Hathersage, along the Hope Valley to Castleton then up through Winnets Pass to Mam Tor, down the other side to Edale.
Food in the Penny Pot Cafe, back along the edale Valley & back on to the Hope Valley taking in Bakewell on the way back to Matlock Bath.

Post codes for start & destination are Matlock Bath DE4 3NS & Penny Pot Cafe Edale S33 7ZA.
Route is 30 miles appox.
Plenty of opportunities for stops to take pics if that's your bag. Some very stunning views on route.

If I could get a more definite account of numbers coming I can see if I can reserve the parking bang outside the Penny Pot, room for 10 - 12 bikes. No promises with this as it's also room for two cars with differently - abled people, otherwise we may have to shell out for parking in the main car park. This is probably a good option anyway as lots of people will be there for the walking at the start of Pennine Way. This will provide a great opportunity to advocate why everyone should own a Buell heh heh.

Look forward to seeing people & parading our bikes shamelessly along the way.

All the best Paul.

Hi there,

I'm not sure that Riders of Bristol were or should really be taking the Derbyshire run into account whilst deciding on their open days.
No worries folks, I'll be doing the ride anyway, it's one of my local rides round Derbyshire & has taken very little effort to organise.
I would add though, that it's always good to support businesses that are Buell Specific in any way.
So, don't worry if you can't make it or would prefer Riders Buell Day instead.

All the best. Paul.
