Hey guys,
I have an Xb12ss Lighting 08 which I'd like to get as black as possible - Much like my old XB12ss 09. To do this I'd need to get the primary cover and all other chrome/silver parts powder coated I'd imagine?
Alternatively I could just go out and purchase a black primary cover etc in black. Is the opposite side of that also the primary cover or is that called something else?
So two questions really.. As a novice bike tinkerer would you suggest I just buy the parts and have Warrs Harley install them for me or would it be reasonably doable for a logically thinking dude with a basic tool box?
Thanks in advance.
Cal

If you’re talking about replacing the timing cover, I’d imagine it’s line bored with the crankcases. To remove the cover, you’ll need to remove the load of the cams by removing the rocker covers. Not a difficult job but very easy to bend valves etc if not done correctly. I really wouldn’t trust Warrs, and their huge hourly rate, touch it! If you really insist on this, let Maz do it properly.
