It is a little wonder that Buell was finished off by Harley-Davidson, my battle with Harley-Davidson uk was epic but I was right in the end, after an assessment by one of their technicians both my front callipers are leaking.

They claimed it had never happened, well it has now he he.

Not the most customer focused brand despite what they claim.

Back to the Buell and researching hard and listening to all you great guys, as an older rider I want to get it right.

Regarding the XG and any other Harley, you just have to find a shop that gives a damn and takes pride in their work. That's an employee issue, not an HD issue. With Buells, you have Maz as the lone specialist.

As for parts, I like others occasionally pick up used but nice spares that are specific to Buells. Other stuff that may also fit HDs, I buy new. There's less of that on the XB line, but the tube frame models definitely have more crossover parts. While Buell stuff can't be had new unless someone is hoarding them, and there's quite of few of those people, I haven't seen a shortage of anything I need in good shape. This is no different that picking up an old bike from another brand which I've also done. Just ask around on here first and enquire about what parts are voted "most likely to crap out." Example: X1...it's the speedo.

I think I'm good to go for the next 30 years when I'm likely to join the "another one bites the dust" thread.

My battle was not with the dealership but Harley-Davidson uk the dealership and all it’s staff are as frustrated as I am with the whole issue.

Hopefully being sorted tomorrow under warranty again.

I am still looking and heading all advice on buying a Buell.

They may have a few problems but you will have far more fun on a buell

One of the advantages of a Buell is that there is no manufacturer or dealerships to get pissed off with
