Just bought this 2006 (built 05) Firebolt 1200 off eBay. Always fancied one but couldn’t afford it back in the day, so now I have one. About the bike; it’s had two owners, first guy managed 147 miles and the guy who I got it from racked up loads more bringing the total mileage to 1299 when I collected it. It’s got a Micron system on it and seems to run well so I’m hopeful that’s an indication that it’s maybe been mapped to suit? It has a billet top yoke conversion with flat bars but I have all the original displaced parts. I might put the original bars back on to see which set up I prefer. Me, I’m a bit of a bike nut, I’ve got a few others- 250LC, 350LC, CB550K3, CB750F2(SOHC), Ossa 350 Explorer, CB1300 and an XL1000 Varadero. I worked in Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki, Vespa & MZ workshops between 1984 and 1999 so I have a wee bit of experience. Yamaha two strokes are my passion, the inner hooligan in me refuses to leave! These days I run a wee garage specialising in VW / Audi group cars and vans. I do a lot of diagnostics and did some remapping too. I love the ‘techie’ bits of what I own so I’m looking forward to learning a wee bit about the Buell from you good people. Here’s my new toy, Hello all. https://www.flickr.com/photos/91538928@N04/shares/5p48yT

Welcome :D

Loads of expertise and experience on here who know pretty much all there is to know about Buells.

Maz is down in Manchester and what he doesn’t know About Buell’s isn’t worth knowing, or so he tells me :) Magz (the boss) will only let him work on her bikes.

Anyhoo - enjoy :yup:

welcome :yup: Tick , the settings for suspension are in the Buell owners manual , with owner weight etc.
when i had a Firebolt , i did the clip on to flat bars conversion , set the suspension to the XBs or XBr
otherwise it rides like a breeze block

with flat bars, you may have to put a spacer between the screen & the mirror support/subframe
this saves butchering the screen to clear the master cylinder :yup:
