Hi all, I expect this has been covered before but what can I replace my Yuasa YTX14H battery with. It lasted less than 6 months, put on a battery tender 24hrs once a week and will now only hold 12.2v?
I looked at a Motobatt mbtx20uhd thinking it would fit but it is 25mm too long. Any suggestions, must have 240 cca or better.

I had similar experience with a Yuasa battery on my 1290GT. The new battery would only really function off the back of a charger. Having checked the alternator output from the bike I sent the battery back to Sportsbike Shop. Though it took a few weeks (last years lockdown so not using the bike), they replaced with a new one that has been performing as expected.

Disappointing that a branded battery doesn't perform out of the box but guarantee worked.

So I finally fitted a Motobatt MBYZ16HD and although the instructions said it did not charging, it was at 12.6v, I put it on the tender for a couple of hours. It went straight in and then went for a ride. Left it for 2 weeks and checked the voltage. 13.1v! Result 😎
