When I started this RWYB drag racing I was warned by a work colleague who did a bit of sidecar racing that it was a slippery slope and the further I got into it the more expensive it would become, also as the more and more I modified my bike the less likely it would be that I would ever put it back on the road, I have to say that most of that advice has come to pass.
I have kept all of the original parts ( and more) just in case,
As the years have gone on I find riding on the road more of a pain than pleasure probably due to the fact I commute quite often on my SV650, also here in the northwest there although we have some nice roads they are littered with scammeras mobile checks and thousands of lunatics who's sole purpose is to try and kill you,
On the other hand the rush of adrenaline when I'm sat on the startline of the dragstrip is amazing, sure it's a if a downer when it goes wrong but as been mentioned in another thread, if a human being put it together another one can repair it, at the end of the day it's only time and money and while I'm able to do it I will.
Lately I've lost a very dear friend who was a few years younger than me and that made me wake up to my own mortality.
So basically what I'm saying is if there's something YOU enjoy get out and do it you never know what's around the corner
