Em’s Day 13th Aug.
Well I happened to get there around 12ish, it was good turn out although just one row of Buells and the start of another occupied by six EBR’s and two (including mine) 1125r’s. The other 1125r had the full Harley fairing in deep grey with an forward facing exhaust, I saw it on Ebay quite recently.
Seemingly because of my mid day arrival, some people had already been and gone.
Notable and nice to see Gusm2 there with his drag racer, Kevmean & partner, Barney, Buellabusa, Delw and family, Willy, CJ & Jane, Mick & Partner (who were camping 90miles away) and lots of other faces, some I’d seen before and some I hadn’t.
Some very nice bikes with splendid mods to peruse, one guy I spoke to with an 1125r with a very nice DIY higher bar conversion and excellent explanation of the method. Sorry, he told me his name but I was too interested in what he’d done to recall it. Some very tidy Tubers with interesting mods a couple of which looked extremely short, and a few Xb 9s 12’s and Ully’s.
Across the way, there were lots of Italian marques Benelli, Guzzi, Ducati, Morini and some others.
There was also a guy selling Buell parts out of a van which made a change, it also made me think that, that this would be an ideal place to shift spares for anyone else. Shame it was the last time it’ll happen.
Hat’s off to CJ & Jane for their organisational skills and for taking the time to put this event on.
Great day out but like Andy’s dad I too got soaked on the way home and was really surprised as I nigh on ran out of fuel due to running in lower 3rd 4th & 5th gears a lot of the time due to traffic & rain. Had a few moments of swearing at myself (waiting for the fuel pump to speed up) as I was on the A17 with no idea how far the next gas station was. Fortunately it was nearer than I thought.
So now, time to wash my bike & get on with the steering conversion.
All the best Folks.

Jazzbutcher - the 1125R with the high bar conversion is owned by Clive who is on here, I believe. He lives in Bedford area.

Bike is lovely, he's done some great work on what was a non-runner on purchase!

Good day
Nice to meet Tony and Gus (at long last)
Plenty of exotica, one of which started an urge (Ducati Streetfighter r) but a wife, common sense and a will to continue living soon ended that ;) lOl
BIG BIG thank you to Gus for "firing up" his drag bike...it had EVERYONE making their way over to have a look...I mean its not like you can miss something that makes as much noise as "Just Jane"....the missus couldn't take it as that also started an "urge" IYKYK lOl
Excellent fish n chips, a wander down the front with a can of IPA in Skegness to finish the day
Good to hear everyone made it home safe (even if damp)
Sorry I didn't catch you, if I didn't
Pleasure to catch up with those that I did

Thanks for that. It was a nice looking bike and very interesting listening to what he's done so far. Bought it as a non runner. Good job & well done him. High bar conversion was a great job & he didn't mind me poking around to look at it either, interesting & enthusiastic chap. Seemingly he's got a video of the conversion on Youtube so I'll take a look at that when I'm done with the jobs in hand.
Thanks again for the info. Paul.

As Barney has already mentioned , thankfully this wasn't the last Emsday as feared , CJ has had so many positive messages regarding it continuing that as Barney has stated Emsday 2024 is booked for Sat 17th Aug 2024 8-) 8-) 8-) Spoilt for choice in which bike to take but decided to take the ex whitey S1 this year as the Westwind had been to the previous two. It was great to see the 6 EBR turn up together 3x RX and 3x SX Good to see a few people had travelled a fair distance as well there was one from Devon or Cornwall can't remember which :D Deepsix from Dahn sarf and also Mojo and Kim via their rally at Hinkley , Festo from up North and of course our very own Pash frpm Bristol so there was quite a lot of miles covered. Great to catch up with everyone again and hopefully Gus had a good day at Santapod :D
