Hello, can anybody tell me if all XB12 exhausts are the same for models of the same year?
My 2009 Ulysses XT silencer has just about had it. I have a good standard silencer from a previous 2004 XB12 Firebolt that I would like to use on the bike but there is quite a difference where the exhaust pipe joins the silencer. If I can get an exhaust pipe from any earlier XB12 will it A) Fit my Uly and B) Will I then be able to fit my Firebolt silencer with it. Thanks for any pointers you can give me.

Like you already encounterd , they are not the same.
Somewhere around 2008 the connection and diameter changed.
So you have to find one from that year or later ,or get the grinder and welder heated up and repair the one that's on your Ulysses.
Or cut the connection piece from the old one and weld onto the new muffler.

Finding another header in good nick would be a challenge I think.

one on ebay for xt 2008 on wards , £99 might last a few years.
in years gone by Albert at APH was the place to go . (do a search on here for Albert / exhaust )

Many thanks for the replies. The current silencer I have repaired numerous times so it's more like a patchwork quilt now! I love Alberts work but on this bike I want a quiet silencer (heresy I know) but I use it for touring with my wife. I would still like to know if the earlier year (pre 2008?) header pipes are the same on all XB 12 models or did they differ between Ulysses, Firebolts, Lightnings etc? As you say a bit of a forlorn hope to find something but if one does turn up it would be nice to know if it fits. I've tried to check part numbers but so far unsuccessfully.
