Devils own job to get the seat fitted,, the front plastic locator wouldn't find the slot and it would not latch down, eventually I moved the loom and shock hose to the right place and it seemed to fit.
The seat itself has been recovered, not sure I like the textured cover, and the seat base is marked 'low', so I guess it's a low seat? Anyone want to swap for a smooth one?

Also, the metal latches on the side of the seat seem to locate in two bolt like the ones shown below

I'd expected these bolts to be the stepped shouldered type that normally mount plastic panels because they would just do up tight and seat on the stepped part, but these are normal short (3/8?) bolts just engaged with couple turns, surely this is wrong?

Few mods undertaken during the winter lay-up.

General, clean lube and service. New set of tyres.

I wanted to clean the bars and remove visual mass and clutter, I bought some carbon bars, a radial master cylinder, some minimal switches started the mods.

Having machined the top yoke brackets off, then welded in bracing plates, filling the holes and fitting new risers I added the bars with all wiring concealled and running down through the risers.
The new master cylinder fitted up and worked a treat.

She was ready for the trip to MOT station

Unfortunately things did not go as planned.

Turning right off the drive, light throttle and round and down she goes, no injury but sickness in my stomach as I survey the damage from such a light spill.

new bars snapped, master cylinder snapped, swingarm, belt guard, brake lever, footrest, frame pucks scraped and scuffed but by far the worst thing - the beautiflu headers. RUINED. :shut: :headbang:

Gutted. :(

Never heard of carbon bars , snapped like a carrot.

Did the new tyres cause it? Nearly had the same with a new rear on...

Yep, fresh tyres, like riding on ice - I should know better. A very expensive reminder.

The carbon bars didnt feel like the strongest things ever when they were delivered. Then some plank put holes into them to run hidden wires, not big holes but I doubt they improved integrity
