Apart from Manchester HDB and Blackbear, they're all next to fuckin useless.

Sorry :maz: but I have to tell you otherwise. Well at least with one place anyway .

The service Dept at The Foundry in Canterbury is outstanding. They replaced my rear wheel bearings, on the 5k service without asking, and picked up my bike (a 140 mile round trip) to replace the belt and all for nowt. Both items were out of warranty.

Both Dave (Dept Manager) and Jane are great to deal with and they always do what they say they will. I hear people saying "Yes it was like that 20 years ago". No, not the case at all. The only brand new bike I ever had was a 1978 Honda and had problems with the dealer I bought it from. I did not buy my bike from The Foundry. The labour rate is also very fair.

UKBEG, other sites and you :maz: have made running a Buell much easier but a good dealer is still a number one need.

I rest my case. Over the years, any part I've ever needed has been kept in stock by Maz. He even keeps really good aftermarket stuff in stock (Prolites, ally oil tanks etc, etc) So if an indy one man show like Maz can offer this superior level of service, there's no excuse for a dealer who is backed by a large business empire, to lag so far behind. It's ironic when folk say how good a dealer is (as I have done in the past), when in fact their stock levels, not to mention expertise, fall so far behind ;)

Granted but the problem now, for some, is how to get them from :maz:. I would love to take my bike there for work and/or buy parts. I will do 70 miles for it now but Maz is just a little to far away.

I got a tow hitch fitted to the car and bought a bike trailer. It's worth it.

Half hour to fit the belt, 2 hours to get your Buell mountain bike seat un-wedged from his arse.

It was rather nice but, having done nearly 50 off road miles on the mountain bike today, and 10 on tarmac, I must admit that I'm sitting a little tenderly at the moment.

:worthy: :worthy: Respect, Norm. I rode my fixie to work all last week (21 miles a day) and my thighs are killing me. I think I need some of those padded shorts as well.
