Funny really, always thought Parkers (or Glass') guide was the bible.

Top price (private) for an S1w is £1495, but Spook's mate sold his for £4800

Then we look at Lightning Long (can't find an STT) and for an 07, top private price is £3950, but matey in the For Sale section can't get a better offer than £3250.

Look beyond the bubble of UKBEG....It can be worth what you make it, down to strategy and marketing in the right place.

My M2 is still insured for 4k after 8 years / 55k. Selling value is probably closer to 4 quid  Wouldn't part from it for 4k though. Let alone 4 quid ;)

So - just for fun - What is the book value for a 1979 Moto Guzzi V1000-G5?.

There is still a good market in the Euro zone. A lot of XBs are still going abroad for reasonable money. Just got to get your ad in the right place.

Mine was sold in an hour, for the asking price. The guy who came over came in a van with a trailer and was collecting four others for his mates while he was over here.

If you're desperate to sell get it advertised on the German Buell enthusiasts site.

Mind you, it'll make them rarer than hens teeth over here in a few years :(

I try not think of my bikes as investments or what there worth in money terms, more of what there worth in the amount of pleasure (and that's even fixin them) and a buzz they give when i'm riding them,
I'd prob get £1500 fer mine or break it fer spares,

The True value will be on an insurance payout. The market value will be in the MCN or other list range. The Real value, in the case of a Buell, is its history, plus the market forces and how much you want to pay for a specific bike. The Tubers are a case in point.
