I am afraid that the police really have themselves to blame for this attitude. I feel exactly the same as do most of my mates. Sorry Asda I know your all not like that but lose the thugs and military wannabes and maybe my faith in the police would be restored. Oh and let people take your photos again maybe then we might see coppers smiling?

Daywalker has something of a point here.

I know some of the "ways and woes" of "The Job" and the culture that is still within some areas.

An inter-forum listing on theft is a good idea. A better one is about what the public want from the force and lets be fair on this we, as you do, pay tax for the service.

Its a bit of a complicated story.

Bike was in HD Motorcycles in Cromford, guy running it went abroad and supposedly rang the Police asking could they guarantee his safety if he came back.

Since then a couple of guys with certain affiliations have been there emptying the garage, supposedly my bike included.

Police seem to know all about it but as no-one involved is being that open they are having a hard time, they are trying to get access to the premises to see whether or my bike is actually there.

Catch 22 for me, had blown the rear piston and done a fair amount of internal damage so a pricey time but can't replace that bike, like the new Buells but they aren't the same as my M2 and all the bits its had done.

Well seems it is officially stolen, Police have gained entry to the garage (HD Motorcycles, Cromford, Derbyshire) and hey presto my bike isn't there, sooooo

Buell 1998 M2
S282 VJW
VIN Num: 4MKZS11J2W3315546
Eng Num: ZKSW315546

Custom pipes and can, Forcewinder air filter system on it, headlight all black.

On the attached pic the air filter has been swapped for the forcewinder so is the flatsided cone shape and the headlamp chrome is now black.

Oh, also the rear piston has a big hole in it, hence the reason for being in the garage in the first place.

Not expecting to any part of it again but you never know.

Cheers

Nic

That's a shame.

Surely they know who took it, sounds like all the info is there...

Knowing and proving are two separate things, the guy that ran the place is a nice bloke but obviously got in too deep and was abroad when the garage was stripped.

He knows and the Police know in theory who actually took everything but he also knows the sort of trouble he is in so whether he will roll on them is anyones guess.

Anyway my bike is probably in many different pieces by now :-(

I do have to reply on this......

The "nice guy" that ran the place, was in fact very crooked.
So much so that he swindled his sleeping partner out of over 7 thousand in cash.
He then sold every customers bike that was in the shop running and broken and
did a moonlight flit to a tropical paradise.
He even left his wife behind......
He then contacted police in the UK and tried (unsuccesfully) to blame all the losses and sold items on others.
The people there clearing out the remnants were actually salvaging the parts he hadnt managed to sell before he "ran away"
All of this is fact and the "nice guy" was charged with various crimes and last i heard was bailed to go to trial.
I never did hear the final outcome of the trial as the police refused to give anyone "enquiring" details of his address or of the court date.
Which is a shame really as a lot better punishment could have been served given the information.
If you need to know more just ask.
