Hi, I could do with a bit of advice re. replacement fork tubes.

Currently have a set of Showas on my S1 (that replaced the original WP set). However the outer tubes are badly corroded, so need replacement.

I found the following link www.discovolantemoto.co.uk and they list a set for the X1, but wanted to know if anyone has any experience and can recommend either for/against them.
As yet, haven't got a main dealer price, but will chase that from BB tomorrow.

Any advice very welcome

Toby

Wouldn't it be cheaper to polish your existing ones and then have them re-anodised?

Spook, you're right, but mine are too far gone. Areas of corrosion that are too deep to polish out.

Pash, thanks for the suggestion. Have the original set, but swapped to the Showas and thought that the damping was better with them.
The WP set had also started weeping on the RH fork and despite rebuilding with new seals and internals, couldn't cure it. No apparent pitting on the lower fork and I'm certain they weren't bent.
Just had price for the Showa tubes from Black Bear at £134 each.
It might have to wait a while
