Well after i managed to get a belt from edinburgh HD for my 55 uly, i had a go fitting it today, but came across a problem, how do you get the pulley back on as the belt is so tight? i can't get it high enough.
Can someone tell me what i should be doing when changing the belt please.

Do not under any circumstances try to force it onto the pullys or it will break again in a very short milage....the rear axle needs slakening off i think it's 15 turns and the idler pulley needs removing. You sure they've given you the correct belt ;)

Yeah you need to loosen the rear axle off.
As yuo loosen it you will see the wheel move forward to enable you to get the tensioner back on.
Where do you you stay?
If it's not to far I will come round and give you a hand if you want.

I'll see if i can loosen the axle off more without it coming off. They said it was a new model of belt or something.

Yeah I know where Langholm is and it's not that close to me.
You want to make sure you have the correct belt as there are a few different ones now although a new belt is pretty tight when fitting it should still be possible.
Kev is correct you need to loosen the rear axle 15 turns although you should be able to see when it's loose enough when it gets to the end of the taper.
