I'll pop up onto the helideck with the binoculars and keep an eye out for the most spectacular show. Should I be looking to the right or the left of the spurn point lighthouse? :?:

Just a smidge to the left - the bearing depends how far out you are ;)

Hi Jack - the firework display is scheduled to take place at approx. 8 to 8.30 pm. I don't think you'll make the Lancaster display though, this is still scheduled for 6.00 pm.

We should be at the Aviation Centre for no later than 5.30 pm. If anyone wants to meet up with us once you're inside the Centre, our mobile number is 0792 626 5582.

Jane has made loads of parkin :P so make sure you arrive with an appetite.

We're spending the whole weekend in Lincolnshire and the weather forecast looks very promising, and bike friendly ...

FYI updated information taken from the Aviation Centres web site:

An evening full of fun for the whole family!

Halloween themed evening with spectacular firework display. Our special guest this year is John Marshall from Lincs. FM. The evening is full of loads of entertainment for the kids with a chocolate fountain, fancy dress competition, mask making workshops, face painting, a scare tent and the opportunity to be put inside a balloon by Sam Sam the Bubbleman http://www.bubbleinc.co.uk/. And children under 10 come in FREE!!!

Lancaster taxi runs 3 pm and night taxi run 6 pm. The night taxi run is the only one this year, it is very spectacular and evocative to see the Lancaster in its true environment - at night on a World War Two airfield.

Entrance prices: Adults £10, Seniors £9, Children 11-15 £3, Under 10's free.

Hot food and drink available all day and evening. The museum opens at 10 am, with the first taxi run at 3 pm, so don't miss the opportunity of seeing both a day and night run in one day.

Approximate timetable for the day:
10 am Museum opens
3 pm Lancaster taxi run; chocolate fountain starts in the hangar
4 pm Mask making workshop begins in the hangar
5.00 pm Scare tent opens, Sam Sam the Bubbleman starts his bubble antics.
5.30 pm Lincs. FM presenter John Marshall arrives
6.00 pm Lancaster Dusk/Night taxi run
7.00 pm Fancy dress competition judging. Judged by John Marshall from Lincs. FM.
7.30 pm The launching of Chinese lanterns
8-8.30 pm approx. Firework display

The weather forecast isn't looking quite as good now but Saturday night should be dry at East Kirkby - trust me*.....

You'll be glad to know that parkin production has gone very well, I think Jane now has enough to fill a whole pannier.

We're really looking forwards to our weekend in Lincolnshire. If I don't get chance to post again, we'll see you tomorrow night.

* Have I ever let you down? :oooops:

Parkin is a northern cake, sometimes called flapjack, made of oats, syrup etc. Very nice. Here's a pic.

Cheers Richie. I WAS hoping to ride to Poole with Ash, but I need to sort out my elderly parents first thing tomorrow, so hopefully will manage to get out about lunchtime.....

Have a great weekend. :yup:

Just had a phone call from Harry and he's running a bit later than hoped.........so not sure whether we'll make it now......looks like we'll def miss the lancaster if we do come.
Thought about coming on my own but havn't seen him all week as he's been away on holiday with his mum so although your company is great I'm afraid his is more importent ;)
Will see how time goes ....we may just come purely for the fireworks later ;)
