Not sure if you are keen to go to North Wales with the so called police issues but I can strongly recommend a hotel in the Snowdon region in reach of great riding roads and run by bikers for bikers. I've stayed a couple of times with different groups and find it to be the most friendly and relaxing place to stay. We've never had any issues with the local plod. Call Nigel or Tiv to discuss. Details below

"Trem Hyfryd" Barmouth Road, Dolgellau,
Gwynedd, Wales, United Kingdom. LL40 2SP.
Telephone: 01341 423192

or type 'bikers retreat' into google.

Scotland's been mentioned twice in the thread now, with no real pointers.
I'm looking at Skye after the Glencoe weekend - saw this place but could do with a bit less wd40 in me porridge, if ye ken what I mean..... any recommendations for Skye?

John - I can recommend a place we stopped during our Scottish tour in September.

We stayed at the Duntulm Castle, Trotternish, in the north of the Isle of Skye. They're biker friendly and the hotel is located in the middle of nowhere, far from the maddening crowd.

It has great views out to sea, toward the mountains of the Isle of Harris in the Western Isles.

They have a selection of reasonably priced ;) accommodation and the food's good

If you trawl through the staff listings there are quite few bikers amongst them. Great area for roads and scenery

Germany - bit further east than the cities you mention but this place is great http://biker-hotel-harz.de/ and the Harz Mountains area is a biker paradise.

Have to say Duntulm was great fun - cool couple with a great relaxed attitude.
I'd forgotten you had recommended it CJ, thanks again.

After the Glencoe gig I can heartily recommend the Clachaig Inn to anyone, Superb set-up. 8-)
