thanks for all your comments...I am glad you liked my little adventure!

also, one other thought that crossed my mind having reflected on how well the Uly performed is:
How high the average moving speed was - average of over 57mph...
I mean it did include large sections of highway but also those little lanes and on both ways - up and down - about 70mls of single lane roads!

just shows that you can cover distance at speed...the bike felt solid even with panniers on and me taking her to triple figures...(lol) :oooops:

Lars, What a great post thank you. took me back a bit as I have a long lost family member that used to own/chef at a restaurant in Eyemouth called the "lobster pot". I went there many many years ago with my grandparents on a trip. Was also watching "the history of Scotland" on the telly tonight and was yearning to go up there on the firebolt. ...... Right best get planning the route and the kit to take...

Si.

If so that's a cracking road.

Yeah, goes to Gifford or something? You go past a loch with a low bridge on it.

Looking to do Scotland next year myself, my Uly spends most its time in Wokingham these days parked out my birds, thought I was the only one in the area :o

having spent 2 days down south again...it really make me wonder why i live here.....

rant over!
Lars

you should go further north Lars (or anyone else actually). before i went to the Scottish meet at Braemar in september i rode up the west coast to Ullapool, then further up to Laxford Bridge and down past Loch Shin. great roads and scenery. i used to go camping up in the highlands , and revisiting some old favourite spots brought back some great memories.

once you are up there you never want to come back.
