Hi

Bought a Stealth Engineering exhaust off fleabay a month ago, and after waiting 3 weeks for it to be delivered i came to fit it over the weekend and the header pipes do not come close to fitting. Now the description said that this exhaust will fit all xb series bikes with no modification, including 2009. And did not ask me to specify the year of bike. I have a 56 plate XB 12scg.

I am not bad mouthing this guy because i have only just been in contact and waiting a reply for an outcome. I do believe that this will be resolved. But does anybody know where i stand?? or what i can do?? I have never had a problem like this.
I have read alot of reviews about this exhaust before buying and everybody seemed happy.

As usual any help or advice welcome>

Cheers
Oh and Merry Christmas to all :D

He did phone me up to clarify the size of my pipe to silencer connection as they changed in 07 and mine is an 07 bike. I think they are either 2" or 2 1/4" if I remember right.

Headers are smaller 08 on, so the cans are different

The problem with the exhaust i recieved is that the exhaust to header size is about 1" diaimeter to big for my headers. Will have to wait for a reply i suppose. But why is the positioning so out?

I will have to try and get some pictures on!

For 08 onwards smaller pipes (40mm) on headers and different angle and size (52mm i think) where they meet the silencer, but they are no where near an inch different!!! sounds like the wrong can if it is that much out, some pics would help, as they say " a picture speaks a thousand words " :yup:

Forget the headers, it is the collector size that is giving you problems.

You have a pipe for a 2008/2009/2010 bike
You have a bike for a 2003/2004/2005/2006/2007 pipe

Send it back and tell them to send the right one.

When I bought mine they were very thorough about matching the exhaust to the right headers. He even had me measure the collar just to be on the safe side, did he not ask you to do the same?
I am sure he will sort it out for you, but as each one is handmade you may well have to wait a week or so for him to manufacture another.

up to 08 the collector size is 50mm ( 2" in old money :old: ) can't measure the 08> on collector as it's still on the bike but i think they a 56mm

The size AND the angle of fit from the end of the header pipe to the inlet of the can changes on the later bikes. I know because I tried to fit a 09 can to a 06 bike. Not a chance in Hell, Mate.
