Sympathies, chap, that must have been as frustrating as heck. And yes, next time, head for the NEC. The Bike Shed is off at the same roundabout.

I tend to use an unorthodox approach to the problem...... Whenever I am headed somewhere I don't know very well, I look at a map, take a mental note of the major roads and junctions I will need, this usually gets me within a few miles of where want to be, from this point I use local knowledge in the form of asking at a petrol station, shop, or anyone walking along the street..... Unfortunately this is where it all goes horribly wrong as I invariably request assistance from the Village fookin' idiot. :yc:

yep i was in the blue hoody and buddy was wearing the farmers cap. :D[/quote]

Sorted; nice to meet you guys.Hope you enjoyed the day and Buddy got his answers about the exhaust mods etc.If you didn't find out what you needed with Maz, Adam and Pash, amongst others there you weren't trying lOl i overheard Maz mentioning wiring colours at one point and assume you weren't discussing some IED.

Bike's all ship shape and Bristol fashion again now....... but thinking back on the fashions of the Bristol contingent maybe I should re-phrase that.

:hehe: I know why you'd think that, but it was a joint effort this time.

And back to directions and maps etc. - Kev's X1 tank bag during the JOG/LE Buell Challenge in May. Not bad for a route covering 874 miles:

You must have passed signs for the NMM to have got as far as Solihull, which is the next junction down.

,,never saw one Norm, and was looking for them, as I only use sat nav to get me somewhere close, or if, as was the case yesterday, to find somewhere in citys I don't know,,,passed the NEC signs three times and wondered, as a dim spark in the un-visited regions of my mind told me that was the way I should be going,,,

To be fair, the ONLY NMM sign we saw was on the huge roundabout. All the other signs were for the NEC. Fortunately for us we have been to the NEC many times and have previously visited the NMM, so knew roughly where it was. BUT is isn't signposted at all well, and if you miss the turning into the Museum, you end up back on the motorway!!!

BTW I thought ALL the lads present at the NMM were great. Polite, sociable and well behaved. You dads should be proud of them... xx
