If it's a "real" 9S I would keep it unmodified. Save the money for engine repairs, you might need it sooner than you guess.

An FST, a check of the gearbox output shaft, check engine mounts and good brake pads are well worth doing IMO.

What is a "real" 9S, Gunter.

IMO only 2003 and 2004 models had been available as 9S, before the cityX was launched.

If it's of that vintage, then phosphor bronze oil pump gear might be worth a look. I'm with Gunter - save up for the work you will need to do to keep yourself on the road. Spare the bling.

keep the standard parts they can always go back on but always bear in mind it may need some serious money spent on it if the dreaded happens :ill:

At an average 1k a year it might be due a frame, wheel and engine chrome job. Also some "liquid engineering" is a good mod. I tend to go for the KFC bucket job myself. Looks good and dumps faster than a Saturn V rocket. Sweet.

to be fair you will say you will leave it standard because you like the way it looks...then the novelty will wear off and you will have to start adding personal touches. This has happened both the buell and the 350z.
The trick is to know when to stop...i still havnt found that point yet.
