I've been looking at the bar end mirrors (not the tiny ones) and wondered if anyone on here has used/uses them? Any good for vision i.e. vibration, flat or convex glass etc?

Cheers, Richard.

Happy birthday.

Approx 300m, thats why I bought the xb12ss. Maybe the Ulysses would have been a better choice.

Cheers, Richard.

Motrax bar end mirrors are nasty, cheap shite.
They fade in the sun, the finish comes off on your gloves and generally look awful within a year.
On the other hand, they do exactly what they're supposed to and don't suffer from the vibes.
Function over form, really.
I would buy another pair like a shot.............

Thanks, for that, I can put up with cheap mirrors as long as they work. I could always respray if needed.

Cheers, Richard.

First ones i had the glass fell out going down the road :o
They gave me a replacement and i siliconed the two glass lens in and loctited all the screws and that did last a few good years.
Then one day started up the tractor and the right mirror fell off ticking over, the metal must have fatigued over time.
Apart from all that ,i did like them though and they gave a good rear view ;)

Those little round ones with the convex lens are, like TTT said, nasty cheap shite. The Bar End ones, like I pointed Ash to a couple of weeks ago, are much better quality and you can get some distance perspective in the lens. Go them on the Duc and all the Buells - except the XBSs which only warrants nasty cheap shite lOl

These are the ones I have fitted:
http://www.motrax.co.uk/index.php?mod=p ... id_prd=218

Never had any problems with them myself, the fasteners seem to be stainless steel and they don't blur.
I have heard of the glass falling out, but this can be easily insured against with a blob of silly-cone, as mentioned earlier.
Their biggest failing is that they are so damned ugly and look even cheaper than HD live to ride conchos.

Mine cost 20 quid for the pair, so that proves how long I've had them.

Go on the Motrax site and check out the mini reversible ones. Ignore the name they're really quite large and work very well :yup:

.........and use a Rawlbolt up the bars, not the crap piece of bent metal they supply you with ;)

:yt: (Adam types faster); Motrax also make reversible, Rizoma rip-offs that flip out for better view, or in for filtering, narrow passageways, etc.
Was looking for them just now on ebay.uk, and I see that Motrax have now knocked off the designs of Oberon, CRG and Rizoma for their bar end mirror offerings.
