,,you know Ash-2, I really want to attend this one, not often I venture out these days, and the X1 , I very much doubt will be in one piece by march (cash restraints, and a bloody-minded stubborness to economise on the build),,if I can get past the "embaressment factor" I'm coming on the shopping trolly, (Mr's Monkeys Intruder 600) :oooops:

As I said, I have marshaled on a few large rallies before for the Killspills . We did one in 2007 and it was 130 miles from Westminster to Donington park and part of the criteria for this was a ride around the track in an attempt to get as many different makes and models of bikes on the circuit.

Diversity is good for rallies, and I don't think anyone will care what you turn up on provided you make the effort.

I'll be on my ZX6R so you won't be out there on a limb in the smaller cc dept ;)

,,,,you seriously tryin' to tell me theres some sort of comparison here Ash2 ? lOl

Cor, I just looked up the spec. It is a bit asthmatic lOl

I've been riding a derestricted (180bhp) 06 GSXR1000 for 6 months until November last year so anything I got had to be fairly full on, and I didn't really want to go for another litre class bike at this time as the Gixxer wasn't really in my budget.
When I test rode the B1, below 6000rpm it felt like a restricted 125, but it does only weighs 161kg and 125bhp at the crank, so when riding it above 10,000rpm it really is lively, so it is fair to say that I was being a bit generous ;)

Anyway, Its bound to be a good day out. How far are you from the meeting point at J17 on the M4 ?

200 miles is a fair hike, but i'd rather do a 450 mile day on that than a sports bike.

Averaging 80 on the m/way on the buell would only knock off 1/2-3/4 hour from your total day in the saddle in comparison with that bike.

Just registered for this one. I will probably be on my DRZ400SM so I win the small capacity award unless of course someone posts otherwise!

Ian - that's no problem. If you really want to do it we'd be more than happy to ride down with you to Wootton Bassett and RAF Lyneham.

Anyway, that Suzuki is blue and a V-twin, which is OK with Jane :yup:...

They are saying that 2000 bikes are now registered for this run. They are going to need a lot of marshals and a lot of police riders to keep it all together. No idea how many major junctions they will need to close to keep the group together, but it can get fairly difficult to achieve when cars try to push into the group.

At this rate, they could easily doubt those numbers on the day if the weather os favourable.

They are a dozen shy of 3000 riders registered now for this ride. If the weather is favourable, they are going to have to move the starting point to somewhere that can cope with the numbers, as the service station will not be able to cope

And now 3350 bikes, 4600 riders registered and still climbing.

I think they are going to need more than the one porta-potti in the back of a caravan at both the service station and Lynham.
