Brian - we wondered what had happened to you, glad you got home OK.
We can't thank you guys (and girls) enough for turning out on such a cold, miserable day. Yesterday's reasonable forecast had changed this morning to light showers
.....
Sorry for the filthy bikes but I hope, like us, you think it was worth it. We might have had drizzly weather and for the most part wet roads but that was one of the best 'meet-n-rides' we've held at this time of year. Riding in less than perfect conditions is always more challenging and gives you a high.
The mystery tour worked a treat. From Worksop we headed south through Sherwood Forest on the B6034 and then picked up the A616 down to Newark. From there we followed the A46/A1133 north to the A57, over the toll bridge near Dunham and then west on the A6075 towards Ollerton. I was very pleased with the route I'd chosen having not ridden those roads before.
Our lunch stop was at the National Trust owned Clumber Park. We were certainly ready for loos, hot drinks and food (in that order
) after the ride.
There were 7 bikes in total, 5 of which were Buells. An X1, M2, 1125CR and 2 Ulysses.
Left to right: Ann, Bel, Kev, Jane, Paul, Dean and Brian.
