Remember on the old site several posts on final belt drive issues. Have not been able to locate on this, so here goes and sorry to the people who have posted on this before.
After 10,000 very happy miles, I was just about to put pen to paper and tell the GS / KTM loveing folk at BIKE what a great bike they never write about Then. Ping the bloody belt snapes! Stranded in Ruthin on a bank holiday evening great.

So I was told by the dealer ~ Stockport HD that the belt drive has a 50k or life time warrenty when purchased. Now after only 10k I am told it has not got a warranty! I know several of you have had similar experience with snapping belt. How did you get on with dealer any joy on a replacement part. Bike is out of 2 year standard warranty.

Maz, there will be a trip coming on, as it needs a service as well now. Call you.

Mine broke as I went through the gate for the Chunnel. I was with a mate and we were going to Germany for a short blast. He carried on, I went home. I was not best pleased to say the least and it was a Sunday so no chance of sorting it.

My bike was just out of 2 years and got it done on "good will".

they might last 50 thou on a 30 bhp 883 sportster

They last 30,000 plus miles on 70bhp, 300kg big twins too!

Giz a call tomorrow......I can collect the bike and almost certainly sort the belt under warranty.
