Having replaced the clutch basket bearing and sprocket/5th gear bearing i have noticed a small amount of play in the mainshaft roller bearing in the trapdoor.
In the workshop manual its a transmission strip down to press the shaft out, is it possible to replace the bearing without removing all gears/counter shaft etc ?
also could someone give me the bearing number (please :maz: !)

Mainshaft is 6305 and before you ask the countershaft is 6204......both should be C3 but standard will be OK IMO. (they're ball races not rollers )

Tranny will need stripping but it's dead easy.......dont forget you'll also need 7 new snap rings

More parts to get, the amount of play is tiny but i might as well do them, saves problems in the near future and taking it all apart again .
I'll get there in the end.
tis a shame you dont do mail order and it costs me 30 quid in fuel to visit, have you a part number for the snap rings please ? , i will have to get em online somewhere.
Many thanks Maz your help is appreciated,
