Dammit, looks like we missed the boat. Got home late last night and went to register and that's what I found on the site. :(

Lifted from another site:

>>An announcement… and at last it’s great news!

All the agencies (Police, MOD & Local Authorities) have come together to make the Mother’s day ride through Wootton Bassett possible.

The ride will now start within the Hullavington Airfield nr Buckley army barracks (A429) and all of the 10331 registered riders will pass through Wootton Bassett before dispersing. All registered riders will soon receive (by email) full instructions/documentation of the route, arrival / leaving times, a proof of registration and the method by which we are going to get this many riders through a small Wiltshire village safely and without causing total gridlock.

We absolutely understand how difficult it must be for those that missed registration however must ask non-registered riders NOT TO ATTEND; As this poses a major threat to fellow bikers who would be at very high risk if left stationary on the M4 motorway as a result of any of the local junctions becoming blocked.

We must stress that ONLY REGISTERED RIDERS will be able to go on the organised ride.

We would like to thank The Unity Ride team for their assistance in the negotiations, planning and kind offer to marshal.

Thank you everybody who has offered their help for this event. If you still would like to contribute your time or services then please use the contact form on the Official Afghan Heroes web site and tell us what you can provide.

I hope that all those who registered two bikes will contact the organisers and delete the one they arent going to use. This is preventing many bikers attending the event.

I registered on 30th Jan and got my reply yesterday, so i'm guessing it's about a 3 week wait. Just like the first RTTW I think the organisers probably are a bit overwhelmed. Frustrating as it is, considering the cause I think they need to be given as much time as possible.

Can we UKBEG lot arrange something in terms of grouping together for the ride?

How could that be accomplished? perhaps meeting sometime am on one of the M4 services nearish J17 or what about at the Airfield itself, although I suspect you will be directed by marshalls once you reach that point.

Got spoke to a friend who directed me to my HOG chapter forum, a few comments from there. The second one is from a police officer who I trust implicitly.

They have also changed the meeting point to Hullavington Airfield nr Buckley army barracks (A429) and it seems that it's a straight ride through Wooten Bassett then every one disperses.
They are sending out instructions to all registered riders.

I'm still going. if it's not snowing

Just driven past the services at Leigh Delamare again today and there was no way that they could have got 10,000 bikes in there. I'm glad to hear from Tony they've come to their senses and moved this to somewhere easier to get everybody together. I couldn't believe it when we drove down to Cornwall last week that riders coming west on the M4 would have to go past the services and travel to the next junction then turn back, about 8 miles or more, then pull in to the services and then ride up the M4 with all the traffic to the Wooten Basset turn off.

I still think it will be a long and difficult day and hope all who do go have a safe ride and enjoy yourselves, I hope the waiting around isn't for too long and that you get out of it what you hoped for but ride for your own safety on the day.

Can we start a list where you copy and paste this list into your own post adding your details, thus the list will grow and wont need anybody to update it. Hopefully then we can liaise with each other depending on our start points: -
