Do the 10 models have two bearings on the gearbox output shaft too?

No, no changes from the 2008 model in that respect.

A bit expensive for the kit whit the bearings, I can get inexpensive bearings on work, I'd like to see images of the kit, I could probable replicate that at work

The bike started to make clicking noises from the front end, for some time now, but I did noting until yesterday night, when the clunk clunk from the head area started to worried me, so, from 18h to 23h30, minus 30 minutes for supper, I've discovered a completely destroy front wheel bearing, the left one, and two bone dry head bearings, they had only 20000 km on then, OK it as been raining like the completely Atlantic ocean in here for months now, but can that be the reason or are the XB bearings like poop?

The "it started clicking from the front end" should have been a clue and your lucky not to have had an accident. The cluch cable wear to the fork is also something that should have been seen before it become a problem. Does the bike not have a clip to stop it rubbing the fork.

20000 klm is 12400 miles and most wheel and head bearings are well gone by then. Buy your own wheel bearings, SKF £20 for both front and rear, and have them done at every tyre change. They should not charge very much for this. Headrace bearings are OEM only so you have to buy them from HD.

Damaged wheels, forks, gearbox output bearings etc will right off your bike unless your happy to pay the vast sums of money to fix it. Apart from the money it makes the bike dangerous.

Be safe, be well, maintain your bike.

Daft question no doubt but can you endlessly keep changing bearings without wearing out the hubs in any way? I just fitted the 4th set of bearings on my Cyclone (8.5 years old, nearly 60k) together with a new set of Avon's finest Storms ST-2. It's about half of what most of my other bikes manage but you get double the fun in return lOl Bearings are not expensive (even good quality ones) and not overly difficult to change. Better not take risks, a bearing that fails and collapses is not a pleasant experience.

I buy my on bearings, but the front wheel was new and so it came whit the crap oem bearings, the rear ones have the same mileage as the front ones and are OK, they are from SKF
The front forks are also new, result from the same crash as the wheel, there for it had no protection for the cable, and because the cable wear the inner side of the fork I didn't see the problem until dismantle the all front of the bike, fixed now...
The head bearings I'm strongly thinking of replacing the HD ones for a pair of Tapered roller bearings, some time ago gunter toll-me the part nº for them but I lost the info, so need to take some measurement and get some
I do maintain my machine, but I use her every day so some wear and tear is expected
You are absolutely right when you say "The "it started clicking from the front end" should have been a clue and your lucky not to have had an accident" Some times I do the IF I IGNORE IT IT GOES AWAY...thing, not very bright

If you had a front end crash, that needed new forks and wheel, it may have damaged your headrace bearings. I think Maz said you can fit normal headrace bearings but need to use some spacers. Its a good idea but I am not sure that you would get any more miles out of them though. I have had bikes that went at 5000 miles and one that was still good at 30000 miles. There are many reasons but its worth a try :yup:.

I know what you are saying about using the bike all the time. I do as well. My bike is outside all the time, no garage, and in the winter it can be a pain to work outside - cold, wet, etc. But it must be done. Today I had the bike on a paddock stand to check the rear tyre and found the rear brake was binding but not enough to feel it on the road. So caught it early and making it less of a problem latter on. If nothing else it saved wear to the pads/disc and a bit of fuel as well.

Its best not to ignore a problem if you can help it because sooner or later its going to come back and bit you.
