From the pure electronical and control point of view you can take away fuel, but you will have to pay for it, as the begin of a single injection has to occur later then. I'm not sure if DDFI-II calculates start point only (perhaps Ian knows more about this), but IIRC DDFI-III also takes the end into calculation, which could lead to a little mess then.

Went for a long ride with Mitch last night. Heard my bike as he road off on it and it isn't loud for everyone else, just me but I'm getting use to it. Sounds really good, glad I got it now. The blowing sound seems to be the exit pipe noise at higher rpm. It was good to get a second opinion from mitch who rode my bike also and yes there is a flat spot. Mitch's bike is a stock 56 plate XB12Scg which imo is quicker than mine. I'm not after a busa performing bike, I just want the same as others who have spent good money tweaking their bikes getting the best our of it. I've ridden a few to know mine is not running as well as it could do!

So with comments already suggested on this thread and previous chats via PM I'm going to go for a TFI unit and K&N air filter. Might even have it dyno'd as a final tweak later on cause the Free Spirits TFI can be adjusted for dyno tuning as apposed to a Remus Powerizer which can't.

Sorry to hear of your issues. Very kind of these people you bought from to relieve you of your money. Then the best suggestion that they can make is to invite you to give them even more money :?: Did they offer to give you your money back, or make any other suggestions that doesn't involve giving them any more cash :?:

Sorry 03 missed this one :headbang:

I bought the exhaust secondhand and not from Trojen. I did ask trojen for a demo of a tfi unit but they don't do demos. I plan to buy one now anyway - must save first as I've spent all my money

The new "Recto" fuel mapper would work well for you.

The Recto unit is for the Reverso pipe, IE - A backend sort of result.

Fair enough, what I said is irrelevant then. Good luck sorting it.

I used to think my exhaust was blowing. Now I accept it's a big aircooled lump with lots of bits of metal thrashing around directly below me and don't worry about it any more. Ear plugs help!

,,sounds like Buell alright,,,

I think that 03's comments were aimed at Trojan as suppliers of the FS TFI units, rather than Buell or any of the stealers.

Norm is right, however, somewhere up the thread I have apologised as the OP didn't actually buy off the retailer.

Neither recommend a fuel fixer... And if they did, what would they recommend? Is there one specifically for equal length header pipes - as they will require the front to rear fuelling ratio to change?

It's easy to pay a fortune for kit only to find you need to spend more money to make things work...

Sage words. However, there are some folk in the trade that I would take a lot more notice of than others.

Not sure about herbtastic words, but tis a minefield with this fuel injection system stuff for a V twin. With a carb, the fuel goes with the airflow, sure I am not saying a rejet may wont be needed, but you will be addressing the front and the rear at the same time...
