I could remove what's left of that filter in less than 10 seconds and it certainly wouldn't involve a chisel of any description :roll:

nope I heard you left had to drop som a/c units down tvc the other week and was talking to platty.

If it was mine, and I didn't have enough access for pump pliers, I would (carefully) get the mole grips on what is left of the can and knock it in the correct direction.
