hi all,
my 2005 city x has been standing outside since february, waiting for me to have the money to replace the broken belt.
It's been neglected with only the occasional wheeling around and spray of WD40 as I kept on thinking I'd have the money any moment.
However, NOW facing up to poverty for a while longer , I thought I should give it some more attention, anyone any suggestions please ?
Cheers JGH

Make sure the axles are well copperslipped ! And make sure you roll it round occasionally to help stop things seizing - it's also good for the tyres if it's not standing on the same part continuously. And keep an eye on the tyre pressures.

Make sure that you keep the battery charged and start the engine up and let it run for a while - maybe once a week, to ensure that the internals get a coating of oil.

Ensure that all cables and pivot points are well lubed. And Copperslip the backs of the brake pads to help stop them seizing in the calipers.

If it's not covered then get a cover.

And probably loads of other things that I can't think of right now !

If you do start it up always make sure you run it up to full operating temp or you'll just succeed in causing condensation in the engine and exhaust ...............so give it a clan and stand it in the house ;)
