Looks like there might be some showers today but very warm.
I met Mitch on the A7 yesterday afternoon so got my new tyres scrubbed in.
Went out for a few pints and some scran last night and looking forward to the weekend now.
See you all there and ride safe.

Well got home about an hour ago after meeting my mates at Fort Willian this morning.
What a fantastic weekend and I think this should be made an annual event a it was a fantastic place to stay and ride around.
I really enjoyed the whole weekend and it was good to meet some new faces and catch up with some old ones.
Just sitting having a few beers and going to order a takeaway and I'm totally knackered.
Done just over 700 Miles although it's not nearly as much as the likes of Mitch, Digger and Co get home.
Even found out how many miles my CR does before running out of fuel 175.
I'm really enjoying the CR now since fitting new tyres and it just seems to get better with the more miles I put on it.

Home safe and well, just left Digger and K at my tun off from the A63. A fantastic week some amazing scenery and roads. A big thanks as usual to Digger for the Digger tours navigation and pace on the way home.

Great to see everyone who came up although we managed to miss John and his mates. Saw their bikes at the Clahaig Inn. But they had disappeared by the time we came back from stowing out kit.

1245 miles round trip  Just down loaded my photos and video’s to nackered to upload them tonight

Another fabulous UKBEG weekend :P....

A short summary: 838 miles in 3 days, killed a million greenfly, ridden some stunning roads, gasped at breathtaking scenery, laughed a lot.

Thanks to Jane :4roz:, Norrie, Mitch, Magz, Clive, Bill, Cathie, Pete, Digger, Kathryn, Robin and Janice for making the whole weekend just a bit special.

There were 8 Buells, 1 Guzzi and 1 Ducati on Saturday's ride-out.

Photos to follow.

:yup: from Diggertours HQ. 1216 miles clocked up this week - I had no idea we had such incredible roads in Britain. Hi to everyone we met - and sorry to John & pals - I was waving frantically from the room just above you as you left ... we saw your bikes & lids as we returned from our Ardnamurchan Odyssey but by the time we reached our rooms you'd fired up & gone :( You missed a great day out - and more importantly, a great evening at the Clachaig. Shame on you.

So CJ, should we summarise the breakdown rate among the Tubers, XBs and newfangled stuff? :D

Yup, Sorry - my fault that one! :oooops:
I wondered later Norrie - why didn't you take a splash from the Good Samaritan on the Road to the Isles? I'd no idea you were running on fumes.

Well, what a great weekend!

After a stunning ride up in glorious weather, it was nice to meet Norrie and Mitch at the Green Welly. We came out after our lunch, to see to two 1125s in the bike park. I don't know how we managed to miss Norrie in his Buell tee-shirt, but we spotted him easily after spying the bikes.

On arrival at the Clachaig, we found the 'Diggertours' party, who were just off to climb the nearest hill. We were all still hanging around the bikes, having a good old look, and yarn by the time they came back down. It was decided that it was time for a refreshment - and what a fine pint of real ale they pull in the Clachaig too!!

We had a small trauma, when Clive had an alzhiemers moment and couldn't find the key for his beloved Ducati...We checked in, I took him to our room, strip searched him and we finally found the key in a secret pocket - it turns out that the cavity search wasn't really required, but hey - you gotta get your thrills when the opportunity presents

Back down, after a much needed shower for more fine ale, and a long wait for dinner. Chris and Jane arrived, then we were all excited to hear the arrival of Peter - Keeper of Stumpy - on the only 'real' Buell of the weekend. Dinner was worth the wait after which, folks started to drifting to bed. Norrie and Mitch had to remain at the pub, downing pints until the latest possible moment, to numb the impending pain of returning to the Youth Hostel! We all managed to make it through the evening without being to savaged too badly by the evil Scottish midgie - I have only found two bites...I'm not telling you where, but it is my fault for wearing a short skirt

Our 'Whole Hog' breakfast set us up for the day - then Clive, Mitch and Norrie worked out by pushing the black 1125 belonging to Mitch up two hills from the youth hostel...well, it was a Buell weekend! The mechanic from the local garage managed to get it fixed though so we were good to go not long after we had planned to. Meanwhile, Bill and Cathie arrived - they had ridden up from Kilmarnock on Saturday morning  They seem like really nice people...for complete nutters lOl

Peter arrived and off we all went. We stopped at the petrol station in Glencoe, for a quick fill-up before the off. As we had only filled up at Tyndrum, it was decided that we would be fine for fuel... :headbang: An uneventful ride to the Corran ferry, and we had a smooth crossing. The roads were fine to Salen, then they started getting really interesting. I had a few twitchy moments, when sheep tried to commit suicide, by running in front of me - I think it was someones loud cans in front of me that upset them. I kept breaking out in a cold sweat, with the amount of grit on the roads - the last time I was on a road with that many wee stones on it, my belt snapped! It seems to have come through unscathed though.

We got to the lighthouse, and parked up - more photos were taken, then a mad rush ensued for the loo's, then lunch. On the way back inland from Arnamurchan point, the sheep were less suicidal. When we got to Salen, we took a left turn, and headed North to Forth William. We slowed slightly as we passed the Glenfinnan monument and gave a nod of respect for those who suffered in 'the 45'. I was beginning to sweat for a garage and the fuel light came on. I thought I would get fair warning, as surely Peter would suffer the indignity of running out of fuel first - little did I realise, that he actually had a tow rope attached to Janes' Guzzi 8-)

I was the first to succumb to a lack of fuel, but as my guardian angel was on duty, I coasted to a stop outside a lovely house. As we were discussing our plan, the gentleman who lived in the house enquired as to the problem...then popped into his garage and poured 2 litres of petrol into my tank - what a honey!! :yup: So off we all went again. We found Norrie by the side of the road about 6 miles later  Same problem, with the lack of go-go juice. Unfortunately, he had not been so lucky with his timing and positioning! We headed off to the petrol station to secure a can and some fuel for him, which Robin actually ended up taking back for him - Robin had his beautiful assistant of the back to carry the can for him :yup:

We all took a well-earned rest at the petrol station, lots of fluids were imbibed...and not a few ice-lollies scoffed. We had a good old yarn then those of us heading home peeled off to start the trek.

We got home last night about 9pm, after meeting John, Kenny, Tam and Steff at the Green Welly and having a bit of a chat. It was lovely to meet them, as well as everyone else.

We had a great weekend, though we were thoroughly knackered by the time we got home - and my erse may take a month to recover! Just uploading the photos to photobucket, so will no doubt manage to get them onto the gallery at some point. Thanks to Chris & Jane for the organisation and thanks to everyone else, for making our first UKBEG event a great one...be warned though, we will start turning up more often now!! lOl

Hi all. got in just before midnight after a hot and sticky ride down from Glencoe. a great weekend, i clocked up 1413 miles, 600 of those today  a cr is not the best touring bike i can assure you, but it was a surprise to me to get a average of 46 mpg. great to meet some new faces and the old ones as well. the clutch fluid has bee ok so far, but will keep and eye on it. hopefully it was a case of just a low level and parking on a steep slope.

off for a much needed shower, so will post more later.

:hehe: shame the CR wasn't available in yellow :D...

Great write up, Magz, we hope to see a lot more of you (and Clive) at future events.

1413 miles, respect :worthy: to Mitch for covering all those miles on the 'touring' version of the 1125.
