I am thinking of getting some custom fenders, mud guards, huggers (whatever you wish to call them) made. Ideally the rear one should go far enough round the tyre to mount the number plate on it and the front far enough down to stop road crud from the tyre being thrown at the engine.

Has anyone had some thing like this made and got pictures to get an idea of how they look before I go to the effort of visiting custom fabricators?

Presume that will also attract opinions over the likely looks. The intent is to allow me to chop of the cheese grater bit and give a very clean look to the back of the bike, while preventing the rear light and my back being decorated by road muck...

if not, then looks will be the last of your problems- custom work of the type your after will be a shock when it comes to paying!
Not trying to dishearten any dreams but it'd be far cheaper to buy a second tatty bike for bad weather!
