Who told you the clutches are dodgy? If kept adjusted correctly and you don't abuse the clutch by permanently slipping it, you will be fine.
I wanted an uprated clutch after destroying my first one (I slipped it loads and never adjusted it regularly-this was before I found this place) Maz talked me out of it, and on inspecting my 10000 mile old clutch, he said it looked like new. Ive done a few mods to the motor so a bit more power than standard and it's coping fine, it now has 30000miles on the clutch!!
