the headers and exhaust caused you problems 1st time round. Did they not?
Then why go through the hassle of reffiting them. If I was you I would admit defeat put your original headers back on sell all the free spirits stuff and buy a stealth or Remus.

What makes you think the FS stuff was the cause? I'm convinced it wasn't, HD don't know what the problem really was, but some people on this forum who have never seen or ridden or worked on my bike seem to know everything! Amazing!! I will admit defeat if I find the FS exhaust is not compatible but I'm not there yet! I'm still a believer :old:

I'm sure you posted on here not long ago that the bike was running fine when it was back to it's original state.

Yes I did and yes it was, it was perfect! BUT returning my bike back to stock in order to solve long term running problems was only going to be temporary. I returned my bike back to stock and still had the running problems. During my 5000 miles service Harley said the lamba sensor wire had got cought in the fan and needed a repair - they recon this was the reason for the 4000rpm flat spot but I had the flat spot as soon as pash changed my exhaust the first time so why didn't they detect it then cause they had my bike for 1st service after pash fitted exhaust, 2nd inspection to investigate the problem, then 9 weeks in warranty in search for this problem, so I don't really know if that was because of the lamba sensor or not? Whilst HD had the bike during last service I asked them to flash my bike to the 2010 ecm reflash apparently solves a number of running issues. The sum of all their hard work was that my bike ran like a dream afterwards and did so for 800 miles.

Now I wanted to see what the bike ran like with my Free Spirits exhaust since all this work had been done, plus I like the exhaust note so others could hear me plus to cover up the noise of the fan running constant. I also wanted to do something with my stock headers cause they don't look as nice!

Since refitting exhaust, bearing in mind that my bike is running much better since 5000 miles service only, I noticed the header glowing, they browned real quick and the video posted shows how much it's popping now, which to me is too much. The bike feels alittle rougher compared to stock and the noise is quite loud and takes time to adjust. Idle bobs about I've noticed now but nothing like it did before. I put this down to the effects of the improved tune from the 2010 ecu reflash which is now not matching with new exhaust. The overall performance has not been effected it would seem. All the drive to refit my exhaust has been born out of curiosity really and I do not regret it cause I know i could return my bike back to stock at any time but I want to overcome these niggles cause obviously changing so much on the bike requires additional fuel adjustments especially for a complete performance exhaust like mine.

I'm happy to carry on answering questions if people have them but I think all advise given has been enough, thanks for all your advise!

I'm not having a go or anything. I've no problem with you or what you post how you take peoples answers or anything.
I understand you want a nice sounding nice looking bike. That's why I said buy a stealth or Remus instead.
You've probably checked it already but could an air leak into the fuel system cause some of the problems?
Things like is the air box on correctly or the little plug that goes where the carbon filter can go is that perished. I know you've probably checked all this but only trying to help.

Thanks Sportsman, actually after posting about Free Spirits I did actually find their website from the twin motorcycles website. Only thing is the only contact details on their website is back to Matt at Trojen, I really wanted to speak to the makers rather than a wholesaler!

Try changing the site language to Italian and then hit the contatti button -

http://www.freespirits.it/contatti.php?lang=1

It's worth a try ...

Thought about that but wondered if I would end up getting directed to another wholesaler? Some manufacturers don't like direct contact with their customers?

I have been in contact with Freespirits direct about an exhaust for my 1125 and find them really helpful.
I think the e-mail is info@freespirits.it
